O God this day help me be,
a child who lives right with thee.
May I today seek your ways,
that all I do may bring your praise.
Bless me as I seek to grow,
may my heart with seeds you sow.
As I wake this day for school,
may I live by the golden rule.
Bless my teacher with your grace,
may I bring joy to her face.
Protect me from any harm,
and may my day pass with no alarm.
For through your Son Jesus I pray,
Lord, walk with me, your child, today.
