Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it. – Ferris Bueller
Ahh… Ferris Bueller. That iconic figure of my teen years now almost forgotten by modern youth. According to a list complied by Beloit College, the incoming freshman class has never experienced the greatness that is Ferris Bueller. (OK, it doesn’t mention that exactly, but it does state that they were born in 1990, four years AFTER Ferris Bueller was released in theaters!) The list, compiled and published by the school to help professors reevaluate references in their lectures, gives us a glimpse into the life so far for the modern day 18 year old. Being born in 1990, they have no concept of life before GPS systems, Harry Potter, or that you can take a child’s temperature in any place other than the ear. (On that last one – I’m not sure I miss that one that much.) If you want to feel old (and who doesn’t) give the list a quick gander. And give thanks that you lived in a time before Windows 3.0 started Bill Gates slow take over of the world.
