So my son received a stuffed animal of Curious George and it occured to me that Curious George has no tail.  This is curious to me because the books continually state that George is a monkey.  A quick trip to the zoo will reveal to anyone interested that one of the major differences between monkeys and apes is that all monkeys (with one exception) have tails while apes do not.  Add to this that George (in the animated series form) moves more like a chimpanzee than a monkey and I would argue that George isn’t a monkey, but rather an ape, likely a chimp.   For what it’s worth.
