Curious about George
So my son received a stuffed animal of Curious George and it occured to me that Curious George has no tail. This is curious to me because the books continually state that George is a monkey. A quick trip to the zoo will reveal to anyone interested that one of the major differences between monkeys and apes is that all monkeys (with one exception) have tails while apes do not. Add to this that George (in the animated series form) moves more like a chimpanzee than a monkey and I would argue that George isn’t a monkey, but rather an ape, likely a chimp. For what it’s worth.
Presidential Endorsement
Now I wouldn’t normally endorse a candidate for president, but when I heard the following argument for why this candidate was qualified, I knew she was just who I want to see in the oval office! Her argument – “I woud [would] be a good president because I have a dog. Also because my little brotr [brother] faloses [follows] me arond [around].” How can you get any better than that! (In a spirit of full disclosure, she’s also my 6 yr old daughter, Kayla!)
Watch out for the Muppets!
It seems Germany has a little problem with speeding muppets! The picture below is of the offending muppet (Animal) seen running a red light. The car is a British made auto, which puts the driver’s seat on the right instead of on the left. By German law, they need to have a picture of the driver to insure they are ticketing the right person. So the driver of this British car decided it would be funny to place a muppet in what the camera believes to be the driver’s seat. I must say that I agree, quite funny. (Though I’m happy to know that Animal isn’t out on the roadways – not sure he’d be a very good driver!)
