Relevant Goodie Box

Today is a great day. Today I received my monthly goodie box from the Relevant Network. Each month Relevant sends me a box full of books, CDs, and copies of thier magazine to help me in ministry to young adults. (For a price, of course.)
I’m currently enjoying the sounds of Seven Glory.
Later I am going to enjoy watching a NOOMA video titled Sunday by Rob Bell of Mar’s Hill.
There are other good books and CD’s…maybe I’ll write more about them later.

Funerals

Today I had the honor to preside over the celebration of life for Orval Littleton. Orval is the father & grandfather of members and they asked that I come to help with the service. This was a great man who lived his life in service to Christ. Everyone told stories of how conversations with him would always lead to faith. He was a great encouragement to his children and grandchildren to grow in Christ. It was a great honor to celebrate as he passed from this earth on to eternity.
Opposite this service was a service here at the church for Bailey Rhodes. Bailey was a sweet little angel that was the infant daughter/granddaughter of members. This one is particularly tough because of the struggles this young girl had.
Two new saints in eternal glory.

Harvest and Young Marrieds

I got the opportunity today to preach in the Harvest. It always amazes me how different each of our services is and how each of them reaches people for Christ. I hope that my message helped draw people closer to Christ.
Afterwards, I went to the Young Marrieds class and talked with them about service. I am so proud of this class. A year ago they were a small class struggling with identity. Now they are a growing, medium-sized class with activities galore. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through these great men and women.
